Los Roques Archipelago refugees characteristic ecosystems of marine and tropical coastal zones: plenty sand beaches, coralline formation, salt water lagoons, marine grass prairies, mangroves and in the main island, The Gran Roque, rocky cliffs.

The festival of crystalline blues and green turquoise are just beyond description, especially if you visit it at the end of daylight when these colors melt with a Caribbean colorful sunset.

At Dos Mosquises key you will find Biology Marine Station facilities in charge of scientific researches including reef communities, fishes, anthropology, and archaeology; in addition, they carry out environmental education actions. They also own a very attractive area for visitors where marine turtles grow.
